ROC DE MASSEREAU ADVENTURE PARK IN THE GARD

Gilles Rigole came up with the Roc de Massereau adventure park on the Domaine’s family-owned land in the Natura 2000 area back in 2014. The idea is simple: explore a protected site and stunning forest in the trees themselves! You can make family memories here too as the Park is suitable for little ones aged 3 and over!

In the heart of the Vidourle valley, Domaine de Massereau enjoys an ideal geographical location between the Gard and Hérault regions.

A Natura 2000 listed area, the site is a major draw for those who like to enjoy activities in the countryside. This idyllic spot is ideal for trekking, canoeing and treetop adventure.

On the banks of the Vidourle, the Roc de Massereau Adventure Park offers no fewer than 20 treetop adventure courses in Sommières.
The courses are accessible from the age of 2, and are progressive, so all the family can enjoy them together.

With 260 workshops, 250 platforms and around fifty zip lines, the Roc de Massereau Adventure Park is the place to be for explorers for the day.

Thrill-seekers can enjoy three spine-tingling courses. You’ll even find a giant zip line that will take you from one department to another by crossing the river!

While the main activity at the Roc de Massereau Adventure Park is treetop adenture, this unusual place in the Gard also offers other activities.

During your holiday in Sommières, you can take advantage of the nearby river to try your hand at Stand-up Paddleboarding. Take part in this sport in complete safety on the calm waters of the Vidourle.

For those who prefer to keep their feet on dry land, the adventure park also offers orienteering. There are numerous marked hiking trails around the park.

Finally, for those who enjoy cycling, the trail crosses the Domaine and can be accessed directly from the campsite.

In summer, remember to book your course in the morning, so you can enjoy the cooler temperatures and avoid the crowds. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some beavers!

On average, an adventure lasts two and a half hours. Don’t forget to take a small backpack. You’ll need somewhere to store your phone and means of payment.

Although the area is shaded, it can get very hot in summer and the sun on the river is treacherous. Bottles of water and sun cream are essential for this day of adventure.

Wondering what clothes to wear for this treetop experience? We recommend that you wear appropriate clothing for the season, loose enough so you can move about freely. Avoid flip-flops and go for closed shoes such as trainers. And don’t forget elastic bands to tie your hair back, and gloves to protect you hands, like cyclists wear.
